What constitutes a “topic profile” and how do you charge for keywords?

A profile is a collection of key words and phrases you determine in order to search the breadth and depth of a brand or subject of interest. Keywords are unlimited; you can specify any number of keywords across as many related subjects as you like, and use boolean operators (like AND, OR, and AND NOT) in order to refine your keyword set. You can also create groups of keywords inside a topic profile to help filter and organize your results. Our pricing is dependent on the number of topic profiles you create, the volume of posts your profile turns out, and the number of users you have registered for the platform. Do you offer a free trial?

We sure do. We ask users to attend a free, one-hour web-based training session before receiving their trial account logins. Radian6 is an in-depth system, and we can help get your trial started off on the right foot by walking you through the platform basics, and offering a few tips and tricks to help. Don’t worry, there’s no high pressure sales pitch here. We’re just making sure you have a chance to ask questions and get a thorough guided tour before setting off to explore on your own.

How fast is it to set up?

Once you complete the initial one hour training session for Radian6, you can immediately start tracking your topics. We’re a web based platform, which means there’s no software to download and install, and you can access your account from anywhere you have an internet connection and a web browser.

What sites and media does Radian6 cover, and how do you find them?

Radian6 covers over 150 million sources each day, including the broadest available coverage of:

  • Blogs
  • Mainstream online news, such as CNN.com
  • Video and Photo sharing sites, like Flickr and YouTube
  • Micromedia, including the full Twitter firehose
  • Forums and Discussion Boards
  • Blog comments
  • Facebook public discussion forums

 

We use a combination of RSS and other data feeds in addition to proprietary crawlers in order to index the entire social web. If data is available publicly, we’ll capture it. That also means that data the community trusts to stay behind a wall, will; we don’t crawl or capture sites like private portions of Facebook, private communities, or anything like that. We capture over eight million on-topic posts and comments each day, filter out the spam and irrelevant data, and deliver results to you in near real time.

What languages does the Radian6 platform support?

Radian6 currently supports the following 17 languages: Chinese, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.

How often do you update the software or release new products?

We do rolling updates to our software approximately every two weeks, with major feature enhancements and additions every two months. We announce new features via email to our users, as well as on our Platform blog and through our regular email newsletter.

What kind of technical support or training do you offer?

We include a basic training session when you first start out that helps you understand the various capabilities of the platform. If you’re interested in learning even more about enhancing your experience with the platform, check out our extensive training opportunities. Covering everything from an in-depth look at the Insights platform, to getting the best use of our Engagement Console, Radian6 training will make sure you’ve got the right tools for the job. Videos and FAQs on the various aspects of the service are also available from within the dashboard for you to review any time you’d like.
