New Features in Radian6: Keyword Proximity Capability, Enhanced Query Support, and More

Notice some new and exciting features we recently added over the weekend? Thanks to your feedback, we have jazzed up the dashboard with some fresh release items we want to share with you.
Refined Topic Profiles
A widget is no longer just a widget. The architecture of a well-built Topic Profile makes all the difference between searching for a needle in a haystack and finding and engaging in a stream of relevant conversations. Boost your performance and eliminate steps with these features:
- Keyword Proximity Capability: Instead of getting results for keywords that may be widely separated in a post and thus unrelated, you can configure your Topic Profile to determine how close to each other the words must be in order to qualify as relevant search results. With the proximity search feature, you can go into the Topic Profile Manager, open the Keyword Query Builder, and adjust the proximity slider to refine the search.
- Enhanced Query Support: There’s no need to enter all the imaginable combinations of coupled search terms. Each possible combination is covered in the search process with an “OR” operator between the combinations of terms in the CONTAINS field and those in the AND CONTAINS field. The time-saving benefit here is that you are mass-applying the second field’s terms to each of the first field’s.
- Special Character Support: Search for numerous special characters, including #, @, &, various currency symbols for a total of 47 additional characters.
- Percentage Change: No need to compare day-over-day or week-over-week stats to calculate a percent change. You can now visualize this statistic within the Topic Analysis widget. We’ve added the ability to measure the percent change across your social media metrics, like sentiment or volume of posts, to make your reporting more comprehensive. See what’s changed since your last login, or how this week’s conversations measure against last week’s.
- Quick Search: Within the River of News, complete quick searches on all your social media content to pick out just the keywords you’re most interested in within your Topic Profile to get a glimpse at the related conversations and surrounding buzz.
- Enhanced Security: An extra layer of security has now been added to ensure secure login capability. Every interaction with our system can be accessed via a secure channel or as a check-box on the Engagement Console.
- Language Support: We now support Norwegian and Danish languages in conjunction with the 13 other languages.
- Refresh Button: No need to wait on the platform to automatically refresh when you can now easily refresh alerts with the click of a button in the top right corner of all Dashboard widgets.
Enterprise Administration Capabilities
One of the main differences between a tool and a platform is a platform allows the functionality of your social media listening and engagement strategy to be scaled across the organization. Begin by taking the administration capabilities in-house to determine the opportunity to engage new users.
Super Users (you know, like that nerdy kid that got trusted with the teacher’s keys to get the coffee from the staff room) are now getting the keys to the dashboard to make changes that used to be locked away from view and dependent on your Account Manager. Now, Super Users can create user accounts and assign user roles. From users with full permissions to simple read-only accounts, Super Users can enable their team to access just the features they need.
When creating a new user, a “Radian6 User Order form” will launch and upon completion, be sent to Radian6 Team Order Processing, the user and other pre-configured email addresses listed with the Topic Profile.
Super Users can also look at a new Client Details tab to see all the information about all their Topic Profiles and users, allowing for enhanced administrative functions. All Topic Profile details may be exported to a CSV file.
Google Analytics Integration
You asked for it and we heard you! Now you have the choice to integrate web analytics from WebTrends, Omniture and now, Google Analytics. Use this information to help create powerful engagement with your community and customers. With our web analytics integration, linking social media content to referred website traffic, conversions, and leads is easier than ever before.
