It’s been some time since we’ve hosted a webinar, hasn’t it? The summer has flown by and we’re seemingly well into fall (if the weather has anything to say about it, some of us are already experiencing winter). Now that the vacations, quick beach trips, and impromptu short days in the office are out of the way, it’s time we hop back on the webinar wagon and share some smart stuff with you to wrap up 2010. That’s why, in just a couple weeks, Radian6′s EVP of Business Development, Chris Ramsey, will be chatting with Forrester analyst Zach Hofer-Shall about the state of the social media listening platform industry.

Zach is a leading expert on a variety of aspects of Social Intelligence, including the technologies, services, and overarching strategy of using social media data to inform business insights, and the author of Forrester Research, Inc.’s Forrester Wave Listening Platforms, Q3, 2010 report.

On November 9th, Chris and Zach will sit down for an hour-long webinar to share their thoughts on how things are currently looking for the social media listening platform space, some of the emerging trends in the industry, top enterprise needs for listening platforms, and they’ll also share some current best practices for social media listening and engagement.

Toward the end of their chat, we’ll open up the conversation to our audience so Zach and Chris can answer your questions and address your comments. As always, those following along can share those meaty webinar bits on Twitter, and also ask questions via tweet, by using the #Radian6 hashtag.

The social media listening platform industry is growing and changing at an unimaginably fast pace, and we’re looking forward to hosting this webinar to give you all a chance to see where this space is headed. If you’ve got any questions now that you’d like answered, please share them in the comments! And join us on November 9th for what is sure to be an interesting chat.

Free Webinar With the Radian6 Community Team, Monday, June 28th at 11am PDT/2pm EDT

By:

When: Monday, June 28th
Time: 11am PDT/2pm EDT

We chew over the concept of community management quite a bit here at Radian6. It’s a huge part of what we do and how we’re structured as a company, and we’ve found that the definition of community management – once centered around forum moderation and issue resolution – is changing with the growth and development of businesses around these new online social channels and larger fundamental shifts in communication.

You can take a look at our series of posts on the way our community team is structured, read through our Director of Community Amber Naslund’s take on how community management is changing, and download our ebook about building and sustaining branded communities to help frame out your own perspective on what community management really entails.

And if you’d like some more food for thought on the subject, we’re going to be hosting a webinar at the end of this month discussing just how much community management as an individual role has changed, and break down how community management as an essential piece of organizational operations is changing the structure and flow of business as we know it.

You’ll hear from our Senior Community Manager Lauren Vargas; as well as Katie Morse, our Community Manager for our Corporate clients; Lauren Fernandez, our Agency-side Community Manager; and me, Teresa Basich, Community Manager and content maven around here. We’ll talk about everything from how the original role of a community manager was defined to how this new role is impacting business processes and company structure.

But first, we want to hear from you. What do you think community management entails? Have you seen the role of community managers change over time, and if so, how? What are your burning questions about the individual role of community managers and the development of a community team? And if you are a community manager, tell us about what you do within the confines of your community and company.

This is your chance to tell us what you think, and give us the fuel we need to speak to your direct concerns about all things community management. Share with us — we’d love to hear your thoughts.

And after you’re done sharing, feel free to register for our webinar in a couple weeks. We’d be thrilled to have you join us.

Free Webinar: eAnalytics with Jim Sterne, Thursday, April 29th at 11am PDT/2pm EDT

By:

When: Thursday, April 29th
Time: 11am PDT/2pm EDT
Register: eAnalytics: Social Media Analytics vs. Web Analytics with Jim Sterne

Web analytics. Social media analytics. What’s the difference between the two? Is there a difference? How do they connect and influence one another? In our next Webinar on April 29th, Jim Sterne, Web analytics expert and author of multiple books covering the ins and outs of online marketing, will be discussing what differentiates web metrics from social media metrics, how social media participation influences consumer actions on your website, and how these two separate sciences flow together.

Jim Sterne is the President of Web strategy firm Target Marketing, and focuses on measuring the value of the Web as a medium for creating and strengthening customer relationships. Jim has written eight books on the use of the Internet for marketing, is the current Chairman of the Web Analytics Association, and produces the eMetrics Marketing Organization Summit. His latest book, which came out this month, is titled “Social Media Metrics: How to Measure and Optimize Your Marketing Investment”.

Our community manager Lauren Vargas will be talking with Jim after his presentation, and we’ll be hosting a short Q&A toward the end of the Webinar to address any questions you have regarding web analytics, social media analytics, and/or specific points that were brought up during the presentation portion of the Webinar.

As always, please feel free to leave us questions beforehand in the comments of this post and we’ll make sure to address them before or during the Webinar. Also, we’ll have an eye on Twitter the day of, so don’t hesitate to flag any comments or questions you post to Twitter with the #Radian6 hashtag so we can catch and respond to them.

We’re excited to have Jim joining us, and hope you can join, as well!

Webinar: Engage With Brian Solis, Friday, April 2nd at 10am PST/1pm EST

By:

Well, folks, it’s that time again! Time for another Radian6 Webinar, and we’re so excited about this one. Brian Solis, co-author of Putting the Public Back in Public Relations and principal of FutureWorks digital agency, will be joining us Friday, April 2nd, to chat about the core concepts in his newest book, Engage!.

Being a business owner himself, Brian approaches engagement and brand sustainability on the social Web from a standpoint of thorough accountability and depth of meaning. He emphasizes the responsibility and privilege businesses have to connect with and bring value to those who’ve established themselves in the online social space through social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook, and blogs. In turn, for a business to continue creating value for itself and its community, internal players must have the proper guidance to know exactly what it is they’re doing on the social Web, how they need to measure those initiatives, and how to report that information back to the people they work with.

In Engage!, Brian breaks down why businesses should get involved on the social Web and also provides the information you need to get started engaging in the right places and fostering the relationships you build so they become impactful to your organization.

So listen in as we talk with Brian next week, and if you have any questions for Brian beforehand, feel free to leave them in the comments and we’ll be sure to ask them during the Webinar. Calendar details and the registration link are below. We hope you can join us!

When: Friday, April 2nd
Time: 10am PDT/1pm EDT

Twebinar with Sun Microsystems: Thursday, February 18 at 2pm EST

By:

Historically, Sun Microsystems* has been largely known as an enterprise-focused technology solutions firm. In recent months, though, the organization has expanded into the small- and mid-sized business solutions market, and they’ve done some of that through the use of social media channels.

On next week’s Twebinar, we’ll be talking with Josh Reynolds, head of Sun’s North American MidMarket Initiative, about some of the work he’s been doing in social media to grow Sun’s share of conversation and discover what’s being said about the brand and what important topics are emerging in the conversation around the SMB market.

So, join us next Thursday, February 18th, at 2pm EST for our latest Twebinar with Sun.

If you’ve never experienced a Radian6 Twebinar, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

What is a Twebinar?

A Twebinar is a podcast/audio broadcast doubled up with Twitter so listeners can participate on a more interactive level. You can pose questions to guests by tagging tweets with the hashtag #radian6 and ending them with a “?”. We’ve built the Twebinar interface so you can listen, ask questions, and watch the discussion all from the Twebinar page.

Some Tips:

  • Once the Twebinar has started, log in and you should hear music or the live broadcast. If you don’t hear the audio immediately, refresh your browser.
  • If you log in before the Twebinar starts, refresh your browser at the scheduled start of the show and the BlogTalkRadio (BTR) interface will show up and start playing.
  • To ask a question, use the #radian6 hashtag and end your tweet with a “?”.
  • @DavidAlston and @MissKatieMo will be your hosts for this Twebinar. Feel free to send them questions in advance on Twitter if you’d like. We’ll also have the backchannel monitored the day of the show to make sure your day-of questions are seen.
  • The audio by itself is available on our BlogTalkRadio channel, if you just want to listen.
  • A recap and full broadcast of the show will be posted to our blog shortly after the event is wrapped up. You can also listen to the archive on BTR.

If you’ve got questions in the mean time, leave ‘em here and we’ll do our best to answer. We’re looking forward to next week’s Twebinar and we hope you are, too, so mark your calendars and we’ll see you then!

* Sun Microsystems was recently acquired by Oracle, but Josh has been kind enough to join us and chat about Sun’s social media involvement leading up to the acquisition.

Twebinar with Kiva.org: Thursday, February 4 at 2PM EST

By:

Radian6 Twebinar with Kiva.orgIf you’re not already familar with what Kiva.org is up to, start by checking out their work.

Their mission is to connect people through lending for the sake of alleviating poverty.  In short, donors to Kiva make microloans in smaller dollar amounts to emerging entrepreneurs around the world. Donations help individuals gain financial independence and support their families, and Kiva works with existing microloan institutions to help find qualified entrepreneurs and get the money to the right spots.

The entrepreneurs pay back the money as their business gets established, and then donors can relend that money to someone else. Pretty cool, huh? Learn more on their website, and read some of their amazing stories.

Radian6 is working with Kiva to help them tap the potential of the social media world through listening, engagement, and measuring their efforts. And we want to share not only how they’re working with us, but how they’re working with the social media at large, including the campaigns they put together for this year’s Chase Community Giving contest. We’ll be joined by Chelsa Bocci, Kiva’s Director of Community Marketing, and Lisa Shah from the Community Outreach Team.

So, join us for our next live Twebinar on Thursday, February 4th at 2:00 PM EST. No pre-registration is necessary and it’s totally free. Bring your questions. And if you’ve never been to a Twebinar before…

So… what is a Twebinar?

A Twebinar is a mashup between a live podcast/audio broadcast and Twitter as the backchannel for discussion.

How Can I Participate?

Join us by logging in with your Twitter account on Thursday, Feb 4th (no preregistration is required) or listen to the audio on our Engaged Brand BlogTalkRadio channel.

Since we’ll be using Twitter, just tweet us your questions with a #radian6 hashtag, include a “?” and we’ll be sure to see them. We’ve built the Twebinar interface so you can see all the tweets and discussion at a glance, listen to the broadcast, and submit your questions as we chat.

Twebinar Tips:

  • Once the Twebinar has started, log in and you should hear music or the live broadcast. If you don’t hear the audio right away, please refresh your browser.
  • If you login before the Twebinar starts, refresh your browser once the Twebinar begins and the BlogTalkRadio (BTR) interface will show up and start playing.
  • To ask a question, type it in to Twitter using the #radian6 hashtag and end it with a “?”. We’ll see it.
  • Your hosts for this episode will be @ambercadabra and @davidalston. Feel free to send them advance questions on Twitter if you like. We’ll also have @vargasl on hand to help gather and answer your questions during the broadcast.
  • If you’d prefer to listen to the audio without the Twebinar interface, you can do so at our BlogTalkRadio channel.
  • The full broadcast of the event will be posted on our blog shortly after the event is over, or you can always listen to the archive on BTR.
  • Any other questions, leave them here in the comments or ask us on Twitter and we’ll do our best.

So, don’t forget to mark your calendars and join us next Thursday for a chat with the fine folks at Kiva.org. I can’t wait to listen and learn, so hope you’ll join us for the chat. See you then!

Social media is not media; it’s a two-way communication channel for your customers and your community to reach out to you. And, since it is so easy for customers to express their issues, joys and needs, YOU need to be listening. This is an age where customers no longer line up to reach you. You need to reach out to them because they are talking whether you are listening or not.

The social phone is ringing, are you ready to answer?
